Make sure to have your water tested.
Even if you have specific complaints with your water, it's important to understand the water chemistry before investing in water filtration/treatment equipment. There are certain contaminants that affect the performance, longevity, and effectiveness of water filtration. We offer a free water test in our Asheville office, please see our Collection Instructions for obtaining an accurate sample.

Beware of the whole home "this treats it all" and "maintenance-free for life" claims.
It sounds amazing, but the equipment that we have seen marketed this way tends to disappoint more than impress. Many of these sales tactics neglect to inform the customer that these systems are difficult to maintain, and/or it's hard to find someone to maintain them, for many reasons. More often than not, these systems either do not perform at scale, aren't built to last, or come with an astronomical price tag. In our experience, "maintenance-free" systems almost always fail prematurely, resulting in poor water quality, headache, unnecessary stress, and added expenses & time.

Equipment rental costs a fortune.
Some companies offer water filtration equipment rental agreements as a low up-front cost option. We have seen this option amount to customers having a ridiculous amount of unnecessary spending. We understand that, generally, it can get pretty expensive to obtain exceptional water quality, and Mountain Water Systems is here for you. We can offer different payment options, but we do not rent our equipment. The equipment purchased at MWS is owned by the purchaser outright. We offer installation discounts, routine service, cost-saving options, and we're here to help.

Equipment maintenance.
As mentioned above, it can be difficult to find someone to maintain specific filtration systems. There are certain proprietary parts and brands that are either not serviceable in this area or are incredibly difficult/expensive to service. Before purchasing and installing a filtration system, it's important to understand maintenance requirements and availability. MWS sells, installs, and services Clack® brand equipment, with "made in USA" parts readily available.
