Filtration Specialists

Many people attempt to improve water quality with everything from simple, DIY units, to complex, expensive systems. Water quality is never cut and dry. There's always an often overlooked complexity to water chemistry and behavior. Having been in the water filtration industry for over 40 years, we've come to understand that the nature of water is often unpredictable. It's true. Even after 40 years, we still encounter the mysterious, often baffling, tendencies of h2o. Because of this, it's an ongoing challenge in this industry to effectively treat source water and, ultimately, provide families with ideal drinking water.

Before attempting any form of water treatment, it's important to understand your water chemistry. We recommend taking advantage of our free water testing by bringing a water sample to our Asheville location (see collection instructions here). For comprehensive water testing, we recommend contacting a state-certified water testing laboratory, such as Buncombe County Environmental Health. Once we have a good understanding of your water chemistry, it's important to gather additional information and discuss treatment options in a brief, complimentary consultation.

We see all kinds of equipment out there, and hear all kinds of promises made, when it comes to water filtration. Due to the mysterious nature of water, we're weary of the "this thing does it all" whole home filtration system claim. We can't emphasize enough the importance of understanding water chemistry, usage statistics, and the ultimate goal. As far as the elephant in the room - the cost - it's important to factor it into the equation. At some point, you can throw a lot of money at the ugliest of water and achieve the ultimate goal but, most often, achieving the best water quality possible with the least amount of money possible is, in fact, the ultimate goal. It's the fine balance of quality and quantity.

At Mountain Water Systems, we aren't just water filtration specialists. We want the best bang for the buck. We want, for our customers, the same thing we want for our own water; resilient, long-lasting, maintainable, affordable, effective equipment, that yields clear, clean, great-tasting water from the tap... the best water on the block!
